6.45pm to 7.45 pm – Beginners
8.00pm to 10.00 pm – Advanced

Beginner’s class

We walk through one dance at a time in this hour. The class is aimed at everyone wanting to get started with sequence dancing. Partners are ideal but we do have people coming along on their own and joining in.

We will mix up the programme, walking through some popular favourites such as Tango Serida, Saunter Together, Ennerdale Waltz to the latest prize winning dances which seem to be popular such as Welcome Waltz,, Tiffany Saunter, Selby Swing, Rumba Cascade, Hattyboo Blues, Jasper Quickstep, Saunter Shiraz, Variety Swing, Twilight Mambo, Tango Talahassi, Lace Agate Swing and right up to date with Forever Saunter which recently won.

Our aim is to equip you with enough variety of the “old favourites” and popular newer dances that you could go out to a social dance and get up for the majority of the programme.

Advanced class

Over the next two hours we will put a programme on mixing more current and popular dances from recent years. We also teach the latest Prize Winning Inventive Dances “hot off the press” as the competitions are normally on a Sunday -we are probably one of the first classes that then teach them the next day.

Thursday Afternoons Social Dance with Tuition

2.00pm – 4.00 pm

At Ilkeston United Reformed Church

Wharncliffe Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. DE7 5GF

(Disabled parking at the side of the Church on St. Andrews Drive)

In association with Village Games and Erewash Borough Council, this is an easy afternoon social dance for all abilities. We mix the programme to suit everyone and include tuition.

As well as a social dance, we will also teach you new moves in the basic Ballroom dances such as Waltz, Quickstep, Tango and Foxtrot, as well as Latin tempo's such as Cha Cha Cha and Rumba.

We also mix in popular Modern Sequence Dances with newer prize winning Modern Sequence Dances and teach them to you as well.

To give you an idea, we’ve taught groups in Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba and Cha Cha Cha. We have also taught Selby Swing, Lace Agate Swing, Saunter Shiraz, Rumba Cascade, Twilight Mambo as well as old favourites such as Tango Serida, Saunter Together, Sindy Swing and Katherine's Waltz.

This is very sociable afternoon, if you’re on your own and can dance - then come along and join in, have a cuppa and enjoy the company of like-minded dancers. We have a number of people that are on their own looking for a dance partner and a few hours of fun and company. Why not come along and see if it’s for you too?
